Docbox is delivered as a pre-configured virtual appliance that runs on your existing VM infrastructure. CFH will supply the appropriate VM image format for your environment once your order is confirmed. Deployment is carried out by your IT team, with CFH available to assist if needed. Responsibility for the operating system, including patching, security updates and general maintenance, sits with your IT team from deployment onward.
This section covers everything your IT team needs to know to deploy and configure Docbox successfully. Work through the articles in order before deploying the VM.
| Step | Article | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | System Requirements | Server spec, storage sizing, and browser requirements for users |
| 2 | Networking Requirements | IP addressing, DNS, hostname, and TLS certificates |
| 3 | Firewall Requirements | Inbound and outbound port rules |
| 4 | Active Directory Integration | How Docbox uses AD, service account setup, and known limitations |
Once the VM is deployed and network configuration is in place, your Docbox administrator completes the remaining setup via the Control Panel. See Docbox Control Panel section for guidance on configuring printers, users, LDAP settings, email notifications, and data retention.
