Once the Docbox File Agent (DFA) has been installed, it needs to be configured.
There are multiple steps
- Create and add Docbox Token
- Create a Destination
- Create a Source
You can now send output to Docbox using DFA
Docbox Token
A token is used to allow DFA to access Docbox printers. This token is created by a Docbox user via the Docbox Dashboard. DFA will then be able to use all the printers that the user has access to .
- Log into the Docbox Dashboard application (not the Docbox print driver), and navigate to the User Tokens screen (My Docbox > User Tokens).
- Click “Add New User Token”, enter a suitable token name, and click Generate Token.
- Copy the token text.
- Log into the File Agent as an admin user, and navigate to the Docbox Tokens screen. (Control Panel > Tokens).
- Click New Token
- enter a token name
- the path to the Docbox installation e.g. “https://your.docbox.com/api/v1”
- paste the token text
- Click Save
DFA will now be able to use all the printers that the user who created the token initially has access to.
You can check this by
- Select Control Panel from DFA dashboard
- Select Tokens. The tokens window will open.
- Select the token you wish to query by clicking on it
- The token details window will open which will show all the printers available via that token.
- You can delete a token which you no longer need from the token details screen.
Destination
The destination is where DFA is going to send the output. This is a Docbox printer.
- Within File Agent, navigate to the Destinations screen. (Control Panel > Destinations)
- Click New Destination
- Add a label to identify the destination
- Select Docbox as Destination Type
- Select the printer from the dropdown list
- Click Save
Source
Sources in DFA are where the output or jobs are dropped so that DFA can then send them to the destination. These are typically local folders.
- Within File Agent, navigate to the Sources window. (Control Panel > Sources)
- Click New Source
- Enter a source label to identify the source
- Set the source type to Local Folder
- Enter an absolute path to the folder to be monitored for files to send to Docbox.
- Set the destination to the one created in Destination above
- Choose a sent action
- Archive – keeps copies of sent files in archive folder within source folder (source folder\Archive)
- Delete – deletes the files once sent
- Set the failure threshold – once this is reached the pipeline will be stalled and no further prints will be processed until investigated / restarted
- Failures will be located in source folder\Failed
- Set the poll interval (minimum 15 seconds)
- Archive failures – enable this to archive any failed files
- Archives will be located in source folder\Archive
- Reject duplicates – enable this to reject any files which contain duplicate content of previously sent files.
- Click the Active? checkbox to enable the source folder
- Click Save.
Docbox File Agent is now configured and output deposited in the source folders will be sent to the destination printer in Docbox for processing.
