Destination Details

A destination is where you want to send the output. This can be a Docbox printer or another folder.

To view existing destinations, navigate to Control Panel > Destinations. This shows all existing destinations, including the token used to reach each Docbox printer (see below). Selecting a destination by clicking shows the destination details panel, which allows you to modify or delete it.

How destinations reach Docbox printers

DFA doesn't connect to Docbox printers directly. It connects via a token, and a token only gives access to the printers the Docbox user who created it can see (refer to Tokens). When you create a Docbox destination, the Printer dropdown lists every printer reachable through any token currently added to DFA, shown as Token Name : Printer Name - for example, "Admin 120423 : Colour Duplex DSA". The token name tells you which route is being used to reach that printer, not the printer's own configuration.

If more than one token has access to the same physical printer, that printer appears more than once in the list, once per token. This is expected, not a duplicate.

This also means a destination's ongoing access depends on the token named in its Printer field remaining in DFA. If that token is deleted, any destination relying on it will no longer be able to reach that printer. Replacing a token, by contrast, doesn't break this link - see Replacing a Token.

The same Token Name : Printer Name format is used in the Path / Printer column on the main Destinations screen, so you can see at a glance which token each destination relies on.

Deleting a Destination

To delete a destination, select it from the list and click Delete in the Destination Details panel.

If the destination is currently in use by one or more sources, DFA will prevent the deletion and show the message "Cannot delete destination - used by one or more sources." You'll need to update or delete the source(s) using that destination first.
