Print Driver Troubleshooting

Docbox Print Driver can use logging to track errors. Docbox support may ask you to turn on logging if you are experiencing issues.

Logging is controlled via the LogLevel setting in  DMSPD.exec.config and DMSPOST.exe.config in the print driver installation folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\PrintDesktop\Docbox Print Driver)

  • 0 - No logging
  • 1 - Normal logging
  • 2 - Advanced logging

Log Locations

By default the Docbox Print Driver will write logs to C:\Users\userid\AppData\Roaming\DMSPD\Log.

This can be changed by modifying the config files, DMSPD.exe.config and DMSPOST.exe.config. 

Change LogDirectoryOverridePath to point to the required folder.  This location will need to be accessible by all users of the Print Driver on the PC.

File Locations

These are the default file locations used by Docbox Print Driver. Docbox support may ask you to look in these locations when troubleshooting.

  • Log files - C:\Users\userid\AppData\Roaming\DMSPD\Log 
  • Program installation folder - C:\Program Files (x86)\PrintDesktop\Docbox Print Driver
  • Temporary files - C:\ProgramData\Temp\Docbox
  • Temporary files - C:\ProgramData\Temp\
  • Watch Folder -C:\Users\userid\AppData\Roaming\DMSPD\Watch
