Background Jobs shows the background processes that drive print job processing, batching, cleardown, and notifications. Each job runs automatically at regular intervals. You can access Background Jobs via Control Panel > System Settings > Background Jobs.
Only Administrators can access Background Jobs.
Deactivating a background job will prevent it from running. Any work already in progress will complete normally, but no further jobs will be started until the job is reactivated. Take care when deactivating background jobs as this may impact print job processing.
How background jobs work and why they matter
Background jobs are the automated processes that run behind the scenes to keep Docbox operating -- handling tasks such as processing incoming documents, managing print batches, and running scheduled operations.
In normal use, you are unlikely to need this page. Background jobs run automatically and do not require manual intervention. However, if CFH Support advises you to stop or restart a specific job -- for example, during troubleshooting -- this is where you would do so.
If you are unsure whether to stop or restart a background job, contact CFH Support before making any changes. We can advise on the safest course of action for your situation.
Each job displays the following information:

| Status | Whether the job is currently Active (shown in green) or Inactive (shown in red). |
| Last Ran | The date and time the job last started. |
| Last Completed | The date and time the job last completed successfully. |
| Actions | An Activate or Deactivate button to toggle the job on or off. |

Batching Tasks
These jobs manage the grouping of print jobs into batches and monitor batch completion.

Cleardown
These jobs remove data from the system in accordance with the retention periods configured in Data Retention settings.

Notifications
These jobs handle the sending of email notifications to users.
