In day to day operations, you may need to print directly from your PC / laptop. Docbox Print Driver enables you to print directly from your PC to Docbox.
It is installed locally on your machine and appears as a normal Windows printer called Docbox and can be used from any application such as Word or Outlook.
To use the print driver you need to be logged into Docbox.
Docbox will prompt you to login
- on PC start-up
- if you attempt to print and you are not logged in
- if your session has expired (refer to Session Longevity)
You should login using your normal network credentials.
Printer Selection
When you print to Docbox, it will ask you to select the printer you wish to use from a list of printers that you have access to. Each printer has different characteristics. For example you may have a printer that supports colour, another that sends documents 1st class. This access is controlled by your organisation.
Types of Documents
Docbox print driver is used to convert files to PDF format for processing by Docbox.
If the file is already in PDF format, you can send to Docbox via the PDF upload option of the Print Driver or the Docbox Dashboard.
Access the PDF upload window via the print driver icon in your Windows system tray
- If you right click the icon, you will open the Docbox menu including an option to access the Docbox dashboard
- If you double click, this will open the PDF upload panel.
Status
When you have sent your print to Docbox, you can view the status in the Docbox dashboard.
If your job has failed validation processing, you may receive an email notification if this option is enabled by your organisation.
