Quarantined

Docbox will validate jobs against certain criteria (if enabled). If a job fails validation it will be placed into quarantined status. The reason for the quarantine is displayed in the Job Details‍ panel in the section indicated with .

 

The Recipient Name / Postcode column in the dashboard will not contain any values if the job fails validation.

 

 

Element Validation Failure Notes
Paper Size Print job paper size does not match the printer paper size The paper size dimensions of both the job and the printer can be found in Job Details.
To resolve:
Send job to a printer that is configured with the same size paper.
The paper size of the printer can be seen in My Printers > General Settings.
Paper Orientation Print job paper orientation does not match the printer paper orientation To resolve:
Send job to printer that is configured with the same orientation.
Note: Docbox can attempt to rotate the document to resolve orientation errors. This is a printer configuration setting.
Printer Limit
Maximum Sheets

Print job contains more than the printer's configured maximum number of sheets

This job has been sent to a printer which has a "number of sheets" limit specified.


 

To resolve:
Send Job  to printer which accepts the size of document.
The number of sheets in the document can be seen in Print Job Details  - Sheets / Sides
The printer limit can be seen in My Printers > Print Job Handling > Maximum Sheets

 
Envelope Limit
Maximum Sheets

Print job contains too many sheets to fit in specified envelope

Each envelope has a limit on the number of sheets that it can contain.


 

To resolve:
Send job to printer with larger envelope.
Envelope used can be found in My Printers > Print and Post Settings > Envelope
Address location

Failed to reliably extract recipient details in printer address window

Each printer has a defined area for the address.

If using windowed envelopes, there is also a clear zone surrounding this which ensures that the address can be easily seen in the window once printed.

If validation fails then

  • the clear zone is not clear - text is invading this area
  • the address is too short 
    • Docbox looks for 3 lines of text for the address

The address area can be seen in the PDF that has failed validation.

The shaded area shows the clear zone.

Address

Docbox does not validate the content of the address area. It simply extracts the text that is contained within the defined address area.

 

To resolve:

  • ensure clear zone is clear
  • amend address location
Splitting Splitting process failed to generate any print jobs   

If variable splitting is used and Docbox cannot find the trigger text, the job will quarantine.
To resolve:
Check location and value of trigger text. This can be found in My Printers > Splitting

 
Document Format Invalid PDF File

Docbox only supports PDF files.
To resolve:
Send the document via the Docbox Print Driver which will convert the file to PDF.
